Run, Sam, Run!

I’m hoping to have my next EP out on October 17th. It’s 8 tracks and each track tells a distinct story of my life since like 2018. One of the particular songs I wanted to highlight is called “Run, Sam, Run!” This song is based on an early 2000’s German film called “Lola Rennt” or “Run, Lola, Run”. The movie’s synopsis has Lola try to get 100,000 German francs in an hour to pay off some mob boss who wants to kill her boyfriend (who is the one that owes the money). The beauty of this film is it that it takes place over 3 alternate timelines, where she fails in the first two and succeeds in the 3rd. I took this idea and incorporated into a song, where the first verse talks about an alternate timeline, and the 2nd verse being reality. In 2018, I had the option to move to Argentina with my cousin who was studying there, as a way to get away from everything that was going on in my life at the time. For stupid reasons, I didn’t go and so the song imagines what it would’ve been like if I did go, and then reality comes back hard. This is probably my 2nd favorite song on the project. I have absolutely no idea how I’m going to structure this yet, so we’re just going to ride it out I guess.

Hi, my name is Godinho. If you don’t know me I’m a creative based out of Massachusetts, if you do know me, great. The purpose of this blog is really going to be detailing my creative process when it comes to music but also other ventures I’ve been partaking in. I also want this to be an avenue to access a little more of my mind and day to day shit. When my mind was going haywire in 2022, I kept a journal detailing my ramblings, so this is very familiar for me. I’m going to try and keep this intro post short but please subscribe to the website if you want updates when I make posts, this will be my primary method for promoting my music for a while (as a test).
